Do you think....

Do you think that Sarah was a great Buffy? That she fit the part really well? I did. I think she fit it perfectly, and I think that she made a great Buffy, she just had the right look, moves, and voice.

I think that she did a wonderful job. Especially considering that at the beginning people were probably remembering the movie and thinking that the show was going to be like it (seriously scary thought). She took the Buffy role, improved it and made it her own, so much so that I can no longer imagine anyone else in the role. I think that they made a excellent choice when they cast Sarah in that role. I read somewhere the other day (can't remember where) that Joss got lucky when he cast Sarah, Alyson and David in the first season because they all evolved as actors in the course of the show and I have to agree with that. It is also a little hard when you see them cast as someone else. for example: I am now a huge Merlin Fan and for the first couple of episodes I had major trouble getting used to Anthony Heads character. With Giles being so involved with the supernatural stuff and King Uther being dead against it and executing anyone he found practicing witchcraft. It was a little offputting. Completely over it now. ;) Do you find this valuable? |

Yeah, I got used to Sarah as Buffy...and you said it about TV shows, but I gotta say it about a movie. When Sarah was in the Grudge, the Grudge 2, and The Return, I wasn't used to it not being her as Buffy, I always picture Buffy. But, I loved the movies (The Return, especially) and I got over it. I still want to see her movies Possession, Veronika Decides to Die. Now for Eliza....I was used to her in Buffy, then I watched Wrong Turn and Soul Survivors and it was the same as Sarah. I loved Wrong Turn and Soul Survivors by the way, and then her new movie that was on Sci-Fi (I forgot the name, Grave something). I watched Dollhouse too, but I was instantly comfortable with Echo.

Hmm, I think with all those movies that I have only seen The Grudge. I am a TV girl, not a Movie Girl, I tend to just buy the box sets and Movies never seem to interest me for long.I haven't seen Dollhouse yet. I'm not in the US and I haven't gone out of my way to watch it and I'm still a little peeved with FOX. Not that it's Dollhouse fault, but I would not be able to watch it legally anyway. When it get's either a third season or cancelled then I'm definately going to watch it (Buy it). I'm a quite OK with watching a show after it is cancelled but I am not willing to invest with a show that is on Friday nights on FOX until it get's it's third season. Illogical I know, but that's how I feel about it. FTR: Dollhouse is showing on a payTV channel here (Australia) - which I don't have. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm also from Australia and Dollhouse is on Fox 8 but I think a free to air channel will be getting as for the question that started this topic I think Sarah was brilliant as Buffy-love her in it and loved the show too

I think Sarah Michelle Gellar not only did a superb job in the role of Buffy, she defined that role so well that no one else will ever be able to replace her.

I love the cast in any work they do. Just thought I'd finalize that. And, Dollhouse should be released to you soon. It ended kinda long ago, mostly recently, with only two seasons, but fans are still trying to get it back on the air.
