Season 7: Moments, Fights, Ending.

In Season Seven, the ending episode left us hanging...and wanting more. Buffy and the Scoobies staring at the giant hole that used to be their home...what did they do after the end of everything they knew? Did they drift apart? It was a great idea to reprise the show, but not in comic form. But, why didn't a TV season appear? What were your favorite moments, fights in the seventh and final season? Did you like the ending, and did it satisfy you?
I know that I loved the last episode, and every one before it, but I was disappointed that they ended it without giving the fans a clue as to what everyone did next. I understand that Gellar wanted to end the show at the greatest rating they've ever had, but, if so many people loved the show for seven years, wouldn't another one boost the rating through the roof?

I personally loved the series finale. I rewatched it last week, completely out of order as I am currently in the middle of season 3 again!! I didn't mind that is did not tell you what happened next as it allows us to imagine. I am also glad that they got to finish the show as they wanted. By this I mean it wasn't cancelled mid-season or on the break, they knew it was going to be the last season and they gave a great ending. That final fight scene was EPIC!

My favorite scene of the episode was the one with our four original characters before they went off the fight. They one where they talked about what they were going to do tomorrow. Loved it!! It brought back such wonderful memories of the similar scene at the end of episode 1.02 The Harvest. When Giles says after Buffy, Willow and Xander have walked away "the earth is doomed". It was great to have a reminder of what was basically the first episode in the final one.

Now that I read that, I agree....It was great that they ended it the way they wanted, and the memory of the Harvest episode..The last fight was great. It's also great that in the show, they kill characters that were important, that makes it...I don't know...it just makes it a show that is so great. I can't seem to find the words to describe it, so forgive me. But, I love the show so much! I couldn't believe it when Anya died....And, people say that the show was canceled, but obviously they don't listen.
Live on Buffy.

I could not believe it when Anya died either!! But I am not sad that she was the one that died, I kinda thought as I was watching it that someone had to, it would have been a little unrealistic if everyone had survived. I love shows that are willing to kill of main characters when it is needed. The death scene for Derek in the Sarah Connor Chronicles was the same - dead in a instant - and one that you cannot get out of your head for a week afterwards. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah, that's how to describe it...it would've been stupid if no one died...in the Slayer world, someone has to die. That's what makes shows good: killing off great characters that contributed something. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah, exactly. I knew someone had to die, but I did kind of expect it to be a little more drawn out. How it happened completely took me by surprise, which is great.

I was also relieved that it was not one of the four original characters, If it had been one of them I think that I may been a little dissapointed and upset, but I think the writers knew that if they killed one of the main four that it may have brought a more negative opinion of the finale. I loved Anya as a character, she was always garranteed to crack me up with the things that she said or did but I wasn't as invested with her because she hadn't been there from the start.

Yep. I always laughed at her. I always laughed at Xander too. And, like you said, than GOD it wasn't Buffy, Xander, Willow or Giles...or even Dawn. If that happened, if they killed Xander, Willow or Buffy, I'd totally be P.O.ed at them. I might be able to live with a lot of disappointment and sadness if Dawn and Giles were killed though. But, killing the main character is like we said before, it makes a great show...But not in this kind of show. Killing Buffy would be like killing the show with the finale. Just watched 7.19 (Empty Places) again and I still feel the angery 5 hours later. Am watching Mercy whilst writing this as I can't watch Dawn yet. How is it possible that Joss felt that he had to have the Scoobies hurt Buffy so much? I still feel horrible for Buffy even though I know that Spike will tell them off in 'Touched'. How is it that Dawn has the nerve to kick Buffy out of their house? And Xander and Willow, how do they have any right to question Buffy's motives? She has always been right and they have always trusted her. If they didn't then wouldn't they just leave Sunnydale? They are only there to help her but instead they turn on her after Xander loses an eye besides he's lucky that he has made it this far without getting killed . He is the 'heart', he isn't a very good fighter.
Great end to the season though, loved it and loved season 7!

I get you. It was not even there home to kick Buffy out. Dawn is a key, lets be real, Willow is following Kennedy( I miss Oz), Xander is upset over losing his eye but he could have stayed home. When the other slayers got hurt, I knew something like that would happen but I do not like how the show ended. It takes away from Buffy, by there being more slayers, there is already Faith. season 7 wasn't my favorite season but I still really liked it. Andrew was my favorite thing about it cuz he was so damn funny! I thought the last episode was really good and they conveyed the message that they wanted which was that this wasn't really the end for Buffy it was the beginning. i ball my eyes out for most of the last episode everytime i watch cuz Spike and Anya die (although Spike comes back for Angel) i did not however like the Slayerettes, they were annoying and whiny...and the return of Faith pissed me off, but then again i hate her. i think she should have died in the end, not Anya. I know, that was just wrong to make him have one eye and lose Anya. Giles and Willow could have fixed his eye. Do you find this valuable?

You could say that but than there are the comics, so its like we know what happens and I would have liked to see more since it was the end and they knew about the comics already, so it would have been nice to have gotten a preview or something. You could pretend what happens but then the comics tell you what happens, so its like I would have wanted more and I really wasn't feeling the ending. Nice message but I would have liked it done to fit Buffy better than the whiny slayers and Anya dying. Anya dying I think sucked and if someone should have died it should have been Dawn since Anya had came way before her and brought more to the show than a whiny brat. A movie would suck minus Anya who would have everyone laughing. So I wish somethings were done differently.

i think that the person who deserved to die the most was Faith, i mean it would have been a good ending, it really would have showed the toll the battle took by killing one of the "real" slayers. that and i kinda just hate Faith and love Anya so her dying when Faith lived just pissed me off Do you find this valuable?

Yes, i like it this season. During season seven, it is revealed that Buffy's resurrection caused an instability which allows the First Evil to begin tipping the balance between good and evil. It begins hunting down and killing the inactive Potential Slayers, and raises an army of ancient, powerful Turok-Han vampires. After the Watchers' Council is destroyed, a number of the Potential Slayers (some brought by Giles) take refuge in Buffy's house. Faith returns to help fight the First Evil, and the new Sunnydale High School's principal, Robin Wood, also joins the cause. The Turok-Han vampires and a sinister preacher known as Caleb begin causing havoc for the Scoobies. As the Hellmouth becomes more active, nearly all humans and demons flee Sunnydale. In the series finale, the Scoobies descend into the Hellmouth while Willow uses a spell that activates all of the Potential Slayers, granting them Slayer powers. Angel comes to Sunnydale with an amulet, which Buffy gives to Spike. Anya, now human again, dies in the fight, as do some of the new Slayers. Spike's amulet channels the power of the sun and kills all of the vampires in the Hellmouth, incinerating Spike in the process. This causes the Hellmouth to collapse, and the entirety of Sunnydale collapses into the resulting crater, while the survivors of the battle escape in a school bus. I am huge fan of this show and i never miss any season of this show because i download buffy the vampire slayer episodes and after downloading. I watch this show with my family.

Question did you like Dawn because you thought sje was cute? I did not like how they had her act like a whinny brat and how she was like forced on the show. It was like mom Buffy instead of Buffy learning to be on her own. I would have loved to see Buffy with her own apartment and Joyce still alive. Oh how I dream. I loved Buffy splitting the bad pastor in two than joking about it with Angel minus thee kiss which hurt poor Spike who had been there for Buffy. Do you find this valuable?

I agree with you...i was pretty angry on buffy's behalf lol...i just didn't think that's how things wouldve gone down....everyone kicking her out like that...but then again i think they needed a way to put buffy by herself towards the end...because at the end of the day she is pretty much always alone....they also needed a way to give spike and buffy a way to come together agaibn....after spike had hurt her so bad before he got a soul they they needed a genuine moment between them in order to make everyone like spike and feel good about him being the one to save the world in the end.
