SPIKE BIO
Spike first appears in the Season 2 episode, "School Hard", accompanied by his love interest Drusilla. Spike and Drusilla become major enemies for Buffy during Season 2. He reunites with his old alli, Angel and seems genuinely pleased to see him, however he is disgusted to discover that Angel has fallen in love with the Slayer and still has his soul. When Angel (now Angelus) loses his soul and rejoines Spike and Drusilla, his initial celebration soon turns to resentment when he discovers that Angelus has begun pursuing Drusilla as a lover and taunting him. Spike then decides to ally himself with Buffy against Angelus and explains to her that aside from wanting Drusilla back he also wants to save the world.

In Season Three, Spike appears again in the episode, "Lovers Walk," and is in a deep depression after losing Drusilla. He later kidnapps Willow and Xander, forcing Willow to conduct a spell that will make Drusilla fall in love with him again. After a brawl with the Mayor's vampires, he later realises that Drusilla had left him because he had begun to "go soft". He then resolves to win her back by torturing her until she likes him again, also confessing to Buffy where Willow and Xander are. He also tells Buffy that she and Angel cannot be friends because of their love for one enother.

He then returns again in Season Four during the episode, "The Harsh Light Of Day," briefly living with Harmony Kendall, a shallow young vampire. He is in town to find the Gem of Amarra, a ring which makes a vampire suprisingly vulnerable. He later finds it and attacks Buffy in daylight, but she takes the ring and takes it to Angel. The ring is later destroyed by Angel. Spike is then captured by The Initiative and they implant a cerebral microchip which punishes him with debilitating pain whenever he attacks or harm any non-demon life form. When he joins the Scooby Gang and provides them with information on The Initiative, his inability to bite is comically compared to impotence, much to Spikes humiliation. In "Doomed" he attempts to commit suicide by staking himself in Xanders house. (From this episode on Spike is a regular character on the show)

In Season Five, after some erotic dreams, Spike becomes aware that he is in love with Buffy. He then becomes a more active member of the Scooby Gang, assisting Buffy in several of her fights whether she likes it or not. When Buffy discovers his love for her, she rejects his advances and Spike then kidnapps her, so that she can witness him killing Drusilla, to prove his love for her. In disgust, Buffy alienates Spike from the group. Spike then has Warren Mears create a robot in Buffy's like-ness, programmed to love and obay him. Though Buffy is shocked and appaled by this, her hostility towards him fades conciderably when she learns that Spike refused, even under intence torture, to reveal the identity of The Key to Glory. Buffy is then moved by his unexpected loyalty and kisses him, saying that she will never forget what he had done. In the hours leading up to the final showdown with Glory, Spike fights for Buffy's side earns her trust. After her death, he honours her memory by remaining loyal to the Scoobies and serving as a older brother figure to Dawn.

After Buffy is ressurected in Season Six, she is despondant and detached from her friends. During this time her relationship with Spike deepens, and they begin talking about her ordeal and sharing information that she cannot share with the Scoobies. Two episodes after "Once More With Feeling," they begin a physical relationship. The relationship is frequently violent and Buffy threatens to kill Spike if he ever tells anyone about their "relationship". In the episode "As You Were," Buffy says that she is using him and ends their relationship, however, believing that she is jealous after his drunken encounter with Anya, Spike corners her and makes agressive sexual advances. When she refuses him, he becomes desperate and tries to rape her. He is later horrified by his actions and leaves Sunnydale. Proving his worthiness by surviving trials in Africa, he earns his soul back.

In Season Seven, Spike has regained his soul and must win back the trust of Buffy whilst coping with his actions. He unknowingly begins killing again and after discovering this, he begs Buffy to stake him. However, she refuses and takes him back to her house where she tells him that she has seen him change. Buffy then cares and guards Spike during his recovery and tells him that she believes in him, a statement that later substains him during his torture and imprisionment in the hands of The First. Later in the season, Buffy and Spike achieve an emotional closeness and his words of encouragement give a depressed Buffy the strength to continue fighting. They spend three nights together, one of them he describes as the best in his life. In the final battle inside the Hellmouth, Spike wearing a mystical amulet, sacrifices himself to destroy he Turok-Han and close the Hellmouth for good. He is slowly incererated during the process, but not before Buffy tells him, "I love you", he replies by saying, "No you dont. But thanks for saying it." In dying to save the world, he becomes a champion.
