| MEMORABLE MOMENTS | |

| BUFFY EPISODE TRIVIA | | - Xander punches out a scientist/engineer who had been detaining Willow in the room with Moloch. Afterward he exclaims, "I got to hit a guy!" This is a small victory for Xander, who is continually marginalized as the "regular guy" character.
- Xander and Buffy get worked up over the unknown identity of "Malcolm" and recognize that he could be a dangerous criminal or social recluse. This leads Buffy to exclaim the frightening scenario, "Willow! Axe-murdered by a circus-freak!"
- Pretty much any moment with the witty Miss Calendar.

-
| |
| | - This episode marks the arrival of the scathing wit of Miss Jenny Calendar.
- CRD is a computer technology company that used to operate in, and employ a significant proportion of, Sunnydale.
- Buffy's personal file with the school is brought up on screen in this episode, once by Moloch and then by Fritz, but the birth dates do not match: 24 October 1980 vs. 6 May 1979.
- Buffy's school file also states that she is a senior in high school, but as the series progresses it is likely that she is actually a sophomore (Grade 10) in this (first) season.

| QUOTES FROM BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER | - "Besides I can just tell something is wrong, my spider sense is tingling." (Buffy)
- "Colour in her cheeks, bounce in her step... I don't like it. It's not healthy." Xander, after Willow turns down his invitation to hang out at the Bronze so that she can spend the night chatting with "Malcolm"
- "To read makes our speaking English good" (Xander to Miss Calander)
- "OK, for those of us in our studio audience who are me, you guys are saying that Moloch is in this computer." (Xander)
- "He's gone binary on us." (Buffy)
- "Books smell, musty and rich but the knowledge gained from a computer, it has no texture, no context, it's there and then it's gone. If it's to last the getting of knowledge should be tangible, it should be....smelly" (Giles to Miss Calendar)
- "I think I capped it with the nuclear missile thing." Buffy, after she and Giles come up with a laundry list of ways that Moloch could do serious damage despite being trapped in cyberspace.
