The series is over, but who should Buffy settle down with? I really think it should be riley because he was safe, simple and not a vampire. Angel couldn't make up his mind and spike was just messed up. What do you guys think? thanks

"How is this even a discussion? Angel never asked for a Soul, and without a soul he was one of the badest evil/serial killer. Spike on the other hand asked and to get himself a soul. Even without a soul he was never as bad as Angel/Angelus. Also Spike was there for Buffy for the 2 biggest and most important time of her life. The death of her mother and Buffy's ressurection. Sure Angel and Buffy are like soulmates but can they ever make love? With Spike she wouldn't have to worry. She can also depend on him to stick around when the going gets tough and not run away like a little boy. " I agree with you. I have to add, though, that there are three important events that Spike was apart of, the third being the battle with the First. That was the biggest and hardest and most challenging battle that Buffy has faced, and Spike was the one who helped her save everyone in the end by sacrificing himself. Spike is better suited for her than Angel. Because he was there for the death of her mother and her resurrection, he completely understands Buffy. He has seen different sides of Buffy that Angel has never seen. He has loved her with and without a soul. Buffy and Angel may be soulmates, but I don't feel they are compatible for each other. They each have a person that is better suited for them. Someone above also mentioned that Angel was all wishy-washy about his feelings for Buffy. I'd like to point out that Buffy has also been the same, with the exception that she hasn't had as much relationships or .. flings as Angel has in his show. I tried to justify their actions by thinking that since they can consummate their relationship, they cannot have a future together. So they can't help that they develop feelings for others or have relationships with them, because they cannot be with the one person they truly want to be with and because that keeps them from being alone.
